TOKYO, September 30, 2014 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of the GLS-8900CM lineup of new models in its G-SHOCK G-LIDE lineup of shock-resistant watches designed especially for extreme sports.

The G-LIDE lineup of G-SHOCK watches are specially made for extreme sports, including models equipped with a tide graph function tailored for surfing and body board enthusiasts for Summer G-Lide series, and models built for the low-temperature resistance faced by skiers and snowboarders for Winter G-Lide series. These highly useful features have earned an excellent reputation among users, particularly top athletes.

With the release of the new GLS-8900CM lineup, Casio is offering G-LIDE models featuring popular camouflage watchbands and a dynamic design that stands out against any fashion—even colorful ski/snowboard wear.

In terms of functionality, these new models are built to withstand temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius, making them a great fit for skiing or snowboarding. They are also equipped with a dual stopwatch that allows the user to time two competitors at once, featuring precision of 1/100th of a second and a capacity of 1,000 hours. In addition, Casio designed each model with a large watch face and high-luminance LED light so that users can immediately check the time, even when outdoors doing sports.

Tokyo, September 1, 2014 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of the latest addition to the G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The G-SHOCK GBA-400 watch offers a variety of ways to enjoy music by pairing with a smartphone, such as setting audio controls, adding live effects that simulate concert sound and identifying the names of songs from music playing nearby.*1

In 2012, Casio released a G-SHOCK watch that pairs to a smartphone using Bluetooth^®Smart technology, notifying the wearer of incoming calls or emails. Since then, Casio has released a variety of Bluetooth^®Smart enabled watches including a G-SHOCK watch that controls a music player and sports watches that display fitness data.

The new G-SHOCK GBA-400 watch supports Bluetooth^®Smart connectivity and offers greatly enhanced features for enjoying music *2 when paired with G’MIX App, a new music app for smartphones that can control audio settings, add live effects that simulate concert sound, and identify the names of songs from music playing nearby and then display the song title on the digital display *3 of the G-SHOCK watch. Song identification can be triggered remotely by turning the rotary switch on the watch, without having to touch the smartphone. By operating the watch buttons, the user can trigger preset or customized tones on a paired smartphone—just one of the ways the watch enables users to play with sound and enjoy listening to and identifying music.
